Nina Naffziger

I am a PhD student in Sociology at the University of California, Los Angeles. My most recent line of research examines how and when medical providers screen pregnant women for signs of intimate partner violence at prenatal and postpartum medical appointments.

My Master's project research uses experimental methods to evaluate public perceptions and stigma surrounding domestic violence.

I earned my BA in International Studies and Women's and Gender Studies from the University of Michigan in 2024, where I received Highest Honors for my senior thesis that explored sexual violence in carceral spaces and resulting stigmatization during and after the 2011 Bahraini uprising.
