Nina Naffziger

I am a PhD student in Sociology at the University of California, Los Angeles. My research links the fields of political sociology and gender sociology, with an emphasis on gendered and sexual violence in political movements. I am interested in sexual violence in the carceral setting, political prisoners, constructions of masculinity and femininity, and social movements in the Arab World. My most recent project focused on sexual violence against political actors in prisons during and after Bahrain's 2011 uprising.
